The Nest at David Lloyd
Nestled within the welcoming, family-focused surroundings of the David Lloyd Club, Cardiff, our Nest Nursery offers a calm, nurturing environment where your little ones can truly thrive. We take immense pride in supporting each child’s growth in confidence, curiosity, and independence, creating a strong foundation for learning, play, and wellbeing. Through inspiring experiences and gentle guidance, we help children spread their wings and prepare joyfully for their transition into “big” school.
Indoors
We have three inviting different rooms, specifically designed for three different age groups, with development appropriate resources in each:
Puffins = 0-2 years
Penguins = 2-3 years
Parrots = 3-5 years
Our children have a variety of activities to choose from at their own will.
Outdoors
We have our very own gardens specific for the different age groups, offering exciting areas for the children to explore, from the mud kitchen, to the climbing frame, to the cosy corner, to the growing patch, there's always something fun and educational to do. Our children spend time outdoors each and every single day, rain or shine!
Locally
Our children are very lucky to be based in a Nature Reserve with lots of exciting areas to explore. The children love going into the woods on nature hunts and going down to the lake to feed the ducks. A short walk through the woods, there's also a playground for us to visit.
Wellbeing
The children's wellbeing is the most important thing for us at Nestlings and to ensure we are doing our best, we want to involve parents and carers as much as possible. We have regular parent meetings to talk about wellbeing and development, we provide information daily at handover and via our parent App and we also hold regular play dates so you can come and join in on all the fun!
Trips
We ensure that we arrange a trip every quarter year, with something linking to the Nursery theme at that time. We often invite parents on our trips as they're always such exciting days out. Our trips range from St Fagans, to local farms, the beach, a care home to sing some songs or even an exciting science trip to Techniquest.
School Wrap Around
We provide a wrap around service for Howardian Primary School, either picking children up from the Nursery School morning session at 11.30AM or dropping them off for an afternoon session at 12.45PM. We walk the children 10 minutes through the magical forest to get there or back so weather appropriate clothing is essential.
